Beccaria followed Thomas Hobbes philosophy, he believed humans were rational thinkers as well as pleasure seeking individuals and whether or not a situation can satisfy our own needs in a positive or negative way then we decide if we will proceed. If these said actions created pleasure then we would proceed even if it meant we were committing
