Assignment: Critique a concert that is at least 30 minutes in length The concert can he a live show or an official live concert video (no home videos). Concerts must be approved by the instructor Critiques will be worth 180 points and will be graded on the following criteria:

College Level Writing Skills

• Formal academic style in past tense

• Punctuation, grammar, spelling and mechanics arc correct

• No slang,

• Short Bio of the artist

• Artist's' musical influences

• Set list from the concert  

Analysis of the Music

• Instrumentation

• Tempo

• Melody/Harmony

• Vocal style/timbre

• Dynamics

• Song form (verse/chorus/bridge etc....)
