Something Annoying

Complete a personalized self-assessment regarding an annoying habit you have - of which you may or may not be previously aware. I got this idea after watching an episode of the show How I Met Your Mother (Season 3, Episode 8, entitled "Spoiler Alert"). On the show, one of the characters has an annoying habit that her husband never noticed. All of a sudden it is pointed out to him, and it's all he can hear (hence, a glass shattering sound occurs in the background). One of the goals of this class is to make you realize how importance self-awareness is for leaders of all types. Well, there's bad news in that too... Sometimes we do not know what is annoying about us (or we just don't want to admit it). Or we'd rather hear about it from people that genuinely care about us...

Your personalized self-assessment involves asking 2-3 people what is "annoying" about you and/or is something you do that you might not have ever noticed.  To give you some hints...  Sometimes I like to analyze how people give directions rather than actually paying attention to them, I point at people quite a bit when I'm talking to them, I ramble when I'm nervous, and I love BS-ing with strangers (especially cashiers).  Yes, this task might be a little uncomfortable, but wouldn't you rather know now in case there's something you can work on (or at least be aware of)?

In your write-up, describe the process you went about finding this information (i.e., who you talked to, why you asked that person, etc.).  Of course, please include your newly discovered quirk, and tell how it made you feel to find this out. Do you agree with what the people said?  What are the implications (if any) for your career goals and leadership potential?  Have fun with this assignment.  Your answer should be of sufficient length to fully answer the question
