Assignment In each week the learning assignment is designed to demonstrate your competence with the Terminal Course Objectives of the course. Prior to working on the assignment, you should read through the week’s chapters and lecture.

1. This story is about the Supreme Court’s decision. What process did this case have to go through to get to the Supreme Court?

2. In the story, two justices wrote dieting opinions about the issue. Discuss the differences between a majority opinion, a concurring opinion, and a dissing opinion. What efect does each type of opinion have on the state of the law in America?

3.What type of jurisdiction did the federal courts have in this case? Was it a federal question case or a diversity of citizenship case? Why?
